Large, clump-forming terrestrial fern, up to 3 m tall. Short stem, covered with large scales, and many buds close to the base. Leaves pinnate, over 2m tall, about 30 leaflets, with thick blades. Asexual reproduction by spores on the underside of "reproductive leaflets". Reproductive leaflets have a green upper surface and a rough lower surface bearing yellow-brown spore foci.

Large tree, up to 16 m, DBH: 70 cm. The outer bark is greyish or brownish. Complex system of horizontal roots and pneumatophores (shoot-shaped), grow upright around the base. The pointed leaves are lanceolate, simple and opposite, smooth, glossy green above and gray-white below. The yellow to orange flowers, measure 5 mm across, and occur in 10-30 flowered clusters. Petal and stamens: four (4). Calyx: five (5) lobes. The conical, greyish-green fruit, gradually narrowed to an extended beak-like tip, and measure up to 4 cm; each contains a single seed. Flowering & Fruit: June-December.

Erect or spreading shrub or tree, usually up to 4 m, DBH: 20 cm. The smooth bark is greenish yellow, smooth, thin, peeling off in patches. Complex system of horizontal roots and pneumatophores (shoot-shaped). Leaves are simple, opposite, elliptical or obovate, green above, gray - white below; leaf margins reflexed. The yellow to orange flowers, occur in 4-10 flowered clusters. Petal and stamens: 4. Calyx: 5 lobes. Flowering occurs all year round The fleshy, seed:1, greyish-green, round-shaped and slightly flattened.

Medium-sized tree up to 15m tall, DBH: 30cm. Roots that grow horizontally underground develop into knee roots that emerge above. Simple leaves, opposite, elliptical in shape, the stipules are reddish in color, 5 cm long. Single axillary flowers, 4-5cm. Calyx: 9-14 lobes, red in color, bell-shapedy, 9-14 orange and hairy petals, 9-14 pairs of stamens. The propagule shape is cylindrical and cigar-shaped, 20cm long, brown when ripe, it grows within the calyx tube. Flowering & Fruit: April-December.

Small tree or shrub up to 6-8 m tall, DBH: 20cn, with a brown - grey bark. The tree often has small stilt roots. Simple leaves, opposite, obovate with entire margins, stipule flattened knife-like. Inflorescence: cyme with 5-10 small flowers. The flower has 5 white petals and soon turn brown, with 3 fibrous lobes at the tip of the petal, calyx: 5 lobes, stamen: 10. The ovoid fruits are up to 1.5 cm long, suspended from the calyx tube. The hypocotyl is long and slender, up to 20 cm, ribbed. Flowering & Fruit: March-August.

Tall evergreen trees, up to 20 m or more, DBH: 40 cm, stilt root 3-4 m. Bark dark grey with vertical fissures. Leaves simple, opposite, lower surface with scattered black dots; lamina elliptic oblong: long red stipule 6-8 cm. Inflorescences 2-flowered cymes, bisexual, sessile. Calyx: 4 lobes; petals: 4, white lobes; stamens: 12; ovary 2celled. Fruits: Fruit brown, obpyriform, 2.5 cm long. Hypocotyl cylindrical, up to 40 cm long Flowering & Fruit: April-October

Leaves simple, opposite, lower surface with scattered black dots; lamina broadly elliptic or ovate-oblong, apex with a mucronate tip long red stipule 6-8 cm. stipules large, 8 cm long, ivory white. Inflorescences axillary cymes, 2 or 3 times forked, 4-12 flowers. Flowers white or cream, fragrant, bisexual; calyx 4-lobed; petals 4, densely hairy along the margins; stamens 8; ovary 2 - semi-inferior. Oblong ovoid fruit, brown, 5cm long. Hypocotyls hanging, cylindrical, up to 70cm long, with a rough surface. Flowering & Fruit: May - December.

Large tree up to 15 m tall, DBH: 1m. Bark dark brown, vertical fissures. Pneumatophores cone-shaped (shoot-shaped). Leaves simple, opposite, ovate, with rounded tips. Flowering grow in clusters, 5-8 white flowers and usually blooms at night. Calyx 6-7; petals 6-7; numerous white stamens; ovary 14-16 cells. Fruit: Berry 3.5 cm in diam., wheel-shaped, with a persistent calyx at the base and more than 100 small seeds. Flowering & Fruit: April-November.
